Rye and Carrot Bread
January 7, 2017
Do you find rye bread a bit dry but still like to have an alternative to unhealthy white bread? The solution is simple and all you have to do is adding some chopped carrots to your dough. Try this recipe and let us know what you think.
- Prep: 1 hr 10 mins
- Cook: 50 mins
1Peel the carrots and cut them into chunks
2Add the to the Mixing Bowl and chop for 10 sec. / Speed 5 (you want small carrot pieces, no puree)
3Add the flour and remaining ingredients, knead for 3 min.
4Scrape down the sides and let the dough rest in a warm place for 30 min.
5Knead again for 2 min. and move the dough into a prepared loaf tin
6Cover the tin and let it rest for another 30 min. (you can skip this step if you are in a rush)
7If you skipped the last step, bake your bread at 200 °C / 180 °C Fan for 40-50 min. No pre-heating of your oven needed
8Otherwise pre-heat your oven to 200 °C / 180 °C Fan and bake the bread for 40-50 min.
Please note: While most recipes are designed for the TM5 and TM31, some might not fit the older Thermomix model. The TM31 has a lower Mixing Bowl capacity (2 litres) and a smaller Varoma (3 litres). If you are using a TM31, please make sure that it has the needed capacity and adjust the amounts of ingredients if needed. You are cooking at your own risk!
